Today our facilitator Melly decided it was Time. Time for some feedback.
He printed a series of our photos from Week one and two and told us we now had the skills to analyse and evaluate photos. We would be practising by evaluating each person’s photos. Out loud. In front of each other.
So picture this. Melly leans over to the piles of photos and picks up a pile that is very familiar. Your eyes dart from the photos to the floor to Melly’s face, to the faces of everyone in the room and back to the photos.
Thoughts explode in your mind (some of them excited, some of them nervous and others hoping that no one notices the 122 out of focus pictures of the spider outside your boyfriends house).
Melly opens his mouth…
And something really cool happens.
“Kel your photos are really amazing. You have a real eye for lines and architecture”.
The feedback continued. Everyone was really thoughtful and encouraging with one another. We all have completely different ideas, techniques and perspectives and it’s really great to see our own sense of style emerging.
Hearing everyone’s feedback was a definite boost and all I want to do is go out and shoot photos.
Maybe I’ll go find that spider…
